An alumnus from Marlborough, Massachusetts, McCook graduated from Marlborough High School in 2000. He went to Boston University for one year before moving into Massachusetts College of Art and Design in which he studied the art of performance and video in the Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) program. McCook developed McCook’s Russian drag model Yekaterina Petrovna Zmolodchikova in the year 2006 The stage name was derived from a mix of Russian names and one of his top gymnasts: Elena Zamolodchikova.
