Brad Larsen is one of the most popular and richest Canadian ice hockey coach who was born on January 28, 1977 in Nakusp, British Columbia, Canada. On the 26th of September in 2008, he was traded by Atlanta together as Ken Klee and Chad Painchaud in exchange for the Anaheim Ducks for Mathieu Schneider. Brad’s injuries recurred at the beginning of the 2008-09 campaign, following an Sports hernia. He was forced to undergo hip surgery that kept him out for the whole season, but he did not make his debut with the Ducks.
In the 2004 NHL Lockout, Larsen made his return to full health , and played in a record high of 75 games for The Thrashers AHL affiliate known as known as the Chicago Wolves. When he returned to the NHL in the 2005-06 NHL season, Larsen established a checking position with the Thrashers and scored a record highest 7 goals and 15 points. After participating in an NHL record-setting of 72 games, and in helping Atlanta to reach their first postseason next season Brad got a new contract from the Thrashers to a two-year extension on June 22nd the 22nd of June, 2007. A key player of the Thrashers fourth line, Larsen’s contributions to the offensive declined in the 2007-08 campaign and he scored just one goal and scoring four points.
The first four years of his professional career were spent largely playing for Colorado’s AHL affiliate known as The Hershey Bears, before securing an all-time position as a player for the Avalanche in the 2001-02 season. Beset by constant Back as well as Groin injury during the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Larsen could not make a mark in the NHL. Brad returned in 2003-04 and played playing with the teams of Hershey as well as Colorado before being removed from waivers by the Atlanta Thrashers on February 25 in 2004.
A free agent, Larsen was invited to the Buffalo Sabres training camp for the 2009–10 season before signing with AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates on September 12, 2009. As a part of the leadership group with the Pirates, Larsen made his return to the ice and posted 13 goals for 27 points in 55 games. Helping the Pirates reach the Quarterfinals in the Calder Cup playoffs, Larsen later announced his retirement to become an assistant coach with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL on August 20, 2010.
