Beatriz Paredes Rangel is one of the most popular and richest Diplomat who was born on August 18, 1953 in Tlaxcala, Mexico. On the 5th of October, 2009, she made public her intention in running for president of Mexico in 2012 as well as her pro-choice position regarding abortion issues. The current ambassador is for Mexico within Brazil. Additionally, she is a part of the Washington D.C. the think tank, the Inter-American Dialogue.
Paredes has held a variety of roles within the PRI she has held, mostly representing the indigenous and rural branches that the party. She was the chief secretary for the PRI and was a candidate for the president of her party, but was defeated by Roberto Madrazo. In 2007, she ran for the presidency of the party and was able to win by a wide margin. Paredes has also voiced that she supports the legalization of the same-sex marriages within Mexico in 2010 following Mexico City legalized same sex marriage.
The 2006 Federal District election in 2006, she ran for the office of Head of State (mayor) from Mexico City, representing an alliance between both the PRI along with the PVEM and PVEM. She was defeated by Marcelo Ebrard.
